District Outreach Initiatives (DOI) is an educational based agency that specializes in Parent Advocacy and Leadership Training, Community Engagement and School Recruitment strategies. DOI focuses on increasing Parent, Family, and Community Engagement in urban market areas to increase collective impact strategies and community partnership development.

District Outreach Initiatives provides workshops and training programs that help to increase Parent Engagement through educational learning programs that support the way in which parents support learning at home.

All workshops and trainings are interactive, including Community Builders that allow participants to be connected to each other, and Mindfulness activities that support self care and wellness.

Our workshops can be scheduled through virtual platforms or in person. Materials and handouts are included in pricing.

We’re expanding our impact across Chicago’s South Side. District Outreach Industries is hiring three Program Managers to lead the day-to-day work of our Parent Mentor Program, Student Karma, and CPAAC — programs that support parents and youth through mentorship, trauma-informed development, and violence prevention. If you’re a mission-driven leader ready to build community from the ground up, we’d love to meet you.

We’re hiring three Program Managers to help lead DOI’s work across Chicago. Each role puts you at the center of a different program:

  • Parent Mentor Program — builds parent leadership in local schools
  • Student Karma — trauma-informed youth development for ages 11–13
  • CPAAC — parent-centered violence prevention across 15 CPS schools

Program Manager,
Parent Mentor Program

The Program Manager hires and supervises Parent Mentor Coordinators and organizers from the community, oversees parent recruitment and training, manages school partnerships and program compliance, and ensures each school cohort is staffed and running for the full school year.

Program Manager,
Student Karma

The Program Manager leads the day-to-day operation, quality, and success of Student Karma, DOI’s Reimagine Youth Development Services (RYDS) program, serving high-risk youth ages 11–13 across two South Shore program sites.

Program Manager,
CPAAC Program

The Program Manager ensures program objectives and grant deliverables are met, oversees program staff, manages stakeholder relationships, and ensures services are delivered effectively and in compliance with grant requirements and organizational standards.

Building a powerhouse community inclusive of all parent leaders dedicated to learning and developing the skills to combat factors that influence and hinder our children.

We’ve made an impact on the community

I like the CPAAC meetings when we have at Ashe School. Not only I get out the house when I’m not working,  the CPAAC meetings help me develop new parenting skills. It’s like therapy for me. It’s educational and I gained knowledge from the classes. We also talk about things that’s going on in the world and in our life’s that other people can relate to. I met new people and gain new friends.

I love that CPAAC has so many different learning resources. I’m able to express myself without being judged, we go off the Vegas rule what’s said in our groups stays in our groups. The program has helped me improve me to be a better me. It’s helping me break walls down that I build within cause of my past experiences in life, learning to balance life situations making them stress-free. I was able to meet a lot of other people/parents by going to the event and we had so much fun as a whole community even though we come from many different areas but we came together as one. I’m a parent my scholar goes to Author Ashe elementary. I’m new to the community and CPACC is my new friends.
